A bit of good news: This Candied Yams Recipe can be a “Make Ahead” dish. Whether it is Thanksgiving or just a regular Sunday turkey dinner, this homemade recipe of Candied Yams is sure to please.
How To Make The Candied Yams Recipe
Ingredients
- 2-12 ounce cans of yams (drained)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup quick cooking oat
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 2 cups cranberries
- 1 1/2 cups marshmallows (optional)
Directions
- Combine the brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and flour in a bowl
- Cut in margarine until crumbly
- Mix one cup of “oat” mixture with yams and cranberries in 1 1/2 quart casserole dish
- Top with remaining mixture
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes
- Sprinkle the (optional) marshmallows on top and continue baking until lightly brown
