How To Make The Cheesy Garlic Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2lbs (about 5 medium sized) potatoes, peeled
  • 1lb (16 ounces) cheddar cheese grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream
  • 6 cloves garlic crushed

Directions

  1. Preheat overn to 350 degrees
  2. In a large saucepan of boiling water, cook potatoes for 18 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool.
  3. Slice half the potatoes evenly and thinly into a lightly greased pie dish.
  4. Sprinkle half the cheese over the potatoes and pour half the cream evenly over the cheese.
  5. Slice the other half of the potatoes on top of the bottome layer.
  6. Sprinkle the remaing half of cheese over the potatoes and then half the cream over the cheese.
  7. Spread garlic evenly on top.
  8. Bake about 30-40 minutes or until browned and crisp.

    i enjoyed making the potatoes and my family loved them. my only problem was that i found out the hard way that a pie dish was far to small for this recipe. getting a little creative i put the potatoes into 3 8/8 cake pans then layered the leftovers in a bowl. i also found that it is a lot easier to dish it up coal the heat up the individual servings. thanks for a great recipe!
