I’ve been making this Creamy Mashed Potato Recipe for family gatherings for 20 years and I still get rave reviews. Once your family has tried your mashed potatoes this way they won’t let you make those old boring potatoes ever again.
You will get the WHOW factor with this delicious creamy mashed potato recipe. Whenever there is a potluck dinner, this is what I’m asked to bring. It’s easy to make and you can make it ahead of time.
How To Make The Creamy Mashed Potato Recipe
Ingredients
- 10-12 Potatoes
- Cream Cheese, 8 ounces, softened (you getting the idea?)
- 1 cup sour cream (sounding yummy?)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- pepper to taste
Directions
- Wash and Peel Potatoes
- Place potatoes in a pot and cover with cold salted water
- Bring the potatoes up to a boil over high heat. Cook until tender approximately 15 minutes
- Once soft, drain the water then mash with a hand mixer until potatoes are in small chunks.
- Add the cream cheese, sour cream, butter, salt, onion powder, and pepper. Mix with an electric mixer until very smooth
- Transfer potatoes into an oven safe casserole dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
- Servies 8-10

@Jessica…We don’t have BJ’s in Las Vegas but Costco and Sam’s club usually does the trick. Love Cream Cheese!!
Those are the most sinful mashed potatoes ever! What size of cream cheese? 3 oz or 8 oz since you didn’t specify, and how many people does this serve?? Hubby will die for these!
