This Easy Crock Pot Beef Stew will taste great when you serve it for dinner and it will taste great when you serve it as a leftover dish. Leftovers always taste great!!!
How To Make Easy Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of beef stew meat
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (2 teaspoons if you like)
- 3 cups of beef broth
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 3 red potatoes, scrubbed and diced (no need to peel)
- 4 carrots chopped
- 7 ounces of diced tomatoes
This is a shake and cook recipe. So you are going to need a large food storage bag to continue!!
Directions
- Get your large food storage back out. Put in the salt, pepper, and flour
- Add the beef and do the beef stew shake with the bag. Really go at it until the beef is entirely coated. I told you this was an old fashion recipe. Remember the commercial?
- Now place the contents of the bag in the crock pot (make sure to add all of the remaining flour that is in the bag)
- Now it is time to add the diced potatoes, chopped carrots, beef broth, onion, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves and garlic. Make sure to stir as you add the ingredients. Don’t add the tomatoes yet!!!
- You can cook the beef stew two way in your slow cooker. 10-12 hours on low….Or 4-6 hours on high. I prefer the 10-12 hours on low.
- One hour before your homemade, made from scratch, easy beef stew is finished cooking, stir in the tomatoes.
This Easy Beef Stew that you have made in your crock pot or slow cooker is a great make ahead recipe because it really does make tasty leftovers.
