This hamburger biscuit casserole is sure to please the meat eater in most of us.  It tastes great and because of the biscuit it is very filling. 

If your looking for a low cost meal that will feed up to 6  people then the hamburger biscuit is the answer to your dreams.

This dish is pretty easy to make and the fact that it is simple will let the kids help out during the dinner hour.  For some reason children love to see food encompassed by large doughy contraptions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 4 ounces sharp process American cheese, shredded (1 cup)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 2 tablespoons snipped parsley
  • 1 1/2 cups packaged biscuit mix
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • Vegetable Sauce

How To Make The Hamburger Biscuit Casserole

  1. Cook beef and onion tell meat is browned.  Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in cheese, mayonnaise, and parsley.
  3. Combine biscuit mix and milk and stir till moistened; turn out onto floured surface and knead 8 to 10 times.
  4. Divide in half; roll into two 8 inch circles.
  5. Press one circle into well greased 8 1/4 x 1 3/4 inch round oven cookware cake dish.
  6. Spread meat mixture over biscuit.
  7. Top with second biscuit.
  8. Bake at 375F for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Cut wedges and serve with Vegetable Sauce:  Blend one 10 1/2 ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup, and 1/3 cup milk.  Stir in one 8 1/4 ounce can mixed vegetables, drained;  heat .
  10. Serves 6
