I found a really great food (recipe) site that I think is worth of mention. It is called Mr Chef’s Cookbooks. Michael wrote me an email to let me know the site has gone live. I went over and checked it out and boy was I impressed!

This food and recipe site has five main sections. Each section is broken down into sub-catagories that expand the main theme. I am sure you will find something in each section that you will enjoy.

Cookbooks

Featured Recipes

Featured Sites

Specials

Tips & Tricks

Cookbooks: This site isn’t called Mr Chef’s Cookbooks for no reason. I couldn’t believe that immense selection of cookbooks that are listed on this site. There is one to satisfy anybody’s taste. Here is just a sampling of some of the main categories of cookbooks:

American & Americana Cookbooks

Asian Cookbooks

Baking-Pastries-Desserts Cookbooks

Diet & Health Cookbooks

Entertaining Cookbooks

French Cookbooks

International Cookbooks

Kosher Cookbooks

Light & Healthy Cookbooks

Mexican Cookbooks

Microwave Cookbooks

Seafood Cookbooks

And the list of valuable cookbook resources goes on and on. I’m telling you it is well worth checking out.

Now the site moves on to “Featured Recipes” where you will find every type of recipe you can possibly imagine. There is a recipe for rattle snake and there is a recipe for Jamaican Chicken. There are recipes for just about everything….Including one from a “great” potato recipe site that I just love!!!

Under the Tips & Tricks section are special deals and links to some fine sites that will give you recipes to some special dishes. I especially like the Alfredo Sauce recipe from Chef Todd Mohr.

What a wonderful food & recipe site. When you get a free minute you should really check it out. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Food in Cuba might just be a little different than you think. For instance, when you think about food in Cuba do you think of potatoes? Well maybe you should.

I was checking out the Havana Times website and what did I find? A post that talked about the potato harvest, complete with some really good pictures.

Cuban foods are often thought of as spicy and exotic. To some extent that may be true. But a staple Cuban food is potatoes. Cuban food is found in the quaint restaurants of Havana and surrounding villages. In the United States, the food of Cuba can be found in Miami.

Although Cuba doesn’t grow as many potatoes as Idaho or Ireland, they are proud about the potatoes they grow. Cuba and food go together. They have a unique menu of items that are enjoyed the world over.

The best Cuban food is something you will always want more of. The food in Cuba is something to explore and enjoy.

If you are interested in Great Food, food recipes, restaurant reviews, and just general information on food and food related products, then I have a website you really need to check out. It is called Great Food A Millennial Perspective.

What makes this site so interesting is that it is written by a young man that is 16 years old. His name is Dylan and he loves food.

He describes himself and his ambition on the site like this:

I eat out all over the country in search of the perfect meal but haven’t found it yet. There are many great restaurants in the world and it’s my job to eat at them. I shoot all of my own photos with a Nikon D60 and a Nikon 60 mm micro lense. I also work as a Pantry cook at Houlihan’s.

First let me say that Dylan does know Great Food. He also knows Great Food Pictures. Want to know what convinced me? Take a look on his site at the post named, “Carnegie Delicatessen”. He tells you how the resturant got its name, where it is located, and what they serve. But Dylan goes one step further, he also tells you about the atmosphere inside Carnegies and what it is like to be inside a restaurant that really does serve Great Food.

If Dylan does not wind up on the Food Network for his love of food then we will probably be seeing his name in a food magazine because of the great food pictures that he takes. He not only snapped great food pictures of the sandwiches inside the deli, but he also has a picture of the kitchen and outside the entrance. Great Food Pictures!!

When I think of Portuguese Recipes and Portuguese Cooking, wait a minute, I really never have given any thought to Portuguese Recipes or Portuguese Cooking. Well that is an oversight that I have now corrected. I found a wonderful Portuguese Recipe site called, “Gil’s Portuguese Recipes.”

It seems that Portuguese Recipes and Portuguese Cooking have been around for centuries. Portuguese food combines flavors, spices, and techniques of many other cultures. Portuguese dishes has a lot in common with cuisine from other Mediterranean countries.

On Gil’s Portuguese Recipe site you will find mostly Portuguese Recipes. But Gil also includes some non-Portuguese recipes that he feels are good enough for him to recommend.

Portuguese traditional food can be simple to make. But don’t be mistaken…we are talking about gourmet quality cuisine.

On Gil’s Portuguese Recipe site you will find:

Been Recipes

Beef Recipes

Candy Recipes

Piri-Piri Sauce

Poultry Recipes

Pork Recipes

Salad Recipes

Sausage Recipes

Seafood Recipes

Soup Recipes

And so much more. If ever there was a website worth checking out for great food recipes….This is it. Who knows, you might find a great Portuguese Recipe to go along with one of our Potato Recipes.
